VANCOUVER CANADIAN – CHINESE CHILDREN’S CHOIR SOCIETY

Vancouver Canadian – Chinese Children’s Choir is a non-profit Christian organization originally founded in 1990 by the renowned musician, the late Professor Lao Mo Hsien Marion O’Young. Under Professor O’Young’s leadership, this group of music-loving Christian is dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and the faith of the Christian community through music, by means of this Canadian – Chinese Children’s Choir program, to the community at large.

Our primary goal is to provide opportunities to all children, regardless of color or ethnic origin, who wish to sing mainly Christian songs to spread the Christian gospel and faith to all people. At the same time, we try to encourage spiritual growth within the choir members by fostering this music ministry so that they may learn to serve God at their early age. We organize classes in “Bel Canto” singing method, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory. We also provide instructional classes of various instruments such as the English Handbell, recorder, and harmonica to those children who wish to experience different form of music.

Presently, our Children’s Choir has over 50 members, ranging in ages of 7 to 18 years. We hold weekly practices and are frequently invited to perform in local churches, Christian organizations, charities, senior homes and various music events.

Vancouver Canadian – Chinese Children’s Choir is operated through hardworking volunteers who wish to serve God by providing children with musical education, sharing His gifts with others and glorifying His name.
